Group Meetings
Group meetings have been done at Lone Tree Family Practice since 2007. Group visits have been shown to increase patient satisfaction while improving patient care and treatment outcomes. The idea is to have patients with similar health concerns participate in a group setting. Some care is provided individually with vital signs, medication review and lab orders as needed. The majority of the visit is done in a group, where the provider discusses lifestyle changes, treatment plans and other health issues that apply to the group, and participants can share ideas that helped them achieve great outcomes. Some group meetings have guest speakers from other medical specialties who discuss specific medical issues from their specialty’s point of view. For example, several groups have had nutritionists come and discuss how to change eating habits and how to understand Nutrition Facts on the food labels. We have also had Physical Therapists come and discuss proper exercises with demonstrations.
Currently we have group meetings for Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension. Please call the office to find the dates and time of the next Group Meetings or to indicate other group meetings you would like to see started. Other groups we are considering include: Hyperlipidemia, Teen Health Concerns, Weight Loss and Stress Management.
